and Mrs Suzanne Hoare (Clerk)

Councillor and Cllr Pat West HCC
The village correspondent and 1 member of the public were present.
2. Minutes of the Previous Meeting.
The minutes were agreed and signed after, having been proposed by Sarah Hammer
and seconded by Nicholas Hoare.
3. Matters Arising from the last meeting and Declarations of
Interest
 | Ian Morrison had contacted Johanna Ferguson regarding dates
to discuss possible boundary changes in the Quarley area. A meeting
is likely before the next Amport Parish Council Meeting. At this stage the
Amports intention is to listen to the Quarley proposals and report back to
the Parish Council. |
 | The pest control man has been contacted with regards to the
moles on the green as Mr Welch fears they will spread and damage his grass
cutting machinery. Jean Arnell informed the Parish Council that CPRE
recommend half strength moss killer, this applied to the Green every 2
months would act as a deterrent. Ian Morrison said this would be borne in
mind for the future. |
 | The date of the December meeting is fixed as Wednesday 17th
at the Hawk Conservancy, the rest of the year dates were agreed on - the
usual 3rd Monday of each month (no August meeting planned). The
February meeting will be organised for Weyhill and councillors advised in
due course. |
 | Re the new school building : The builder’s compound needs
to be situated on the play area at school therefore the Parish Council will
not need to consider the use of the Green. |
 | The investigation into possible work needed at the northern
end of Footpath 6 will be deferred as Bill Gore is currently unwell. |
No declarations of interest were made.
4. Reports
The Green and Amport Fen
Problems with damming of the stream continue and this
has led David Horne to consider whether he will continue to give his time to
this project. Charles Stephens will talk to David Horne and try to manage the
problem.
Ashley Smith has agreed to visit the School early in the spring of next year to
encourage the positive aspects of keeping the Pill Hill Brook running. It is
hoped that this may alleviate the problem of the Brook being blocked.
Footpaths and Highways
No report as Bill Gore absent
Ian Morrison reported that he could find no evidence of fly tipping by the rear
of the Amport Inn – this had been reported to the Parish Council by a
resident.
Pat West is currently investigating the lighting issues at Fairways; hopefully
more information will be available at the December meeting. Payment for
maintenance will be with held until this matter is clarified.
Jean Arnell mentioned the dangerous junction directly off the slip road at
Thruxton from the east bound A303. It was felt that as no serious accidents had
occurred Hampshire Highways would be unlikely to do anything about this.
The increasingly bad state of the passing places at the Amport end of Wiremead
Lane is causing concern in the village. Ian Morrison to
write to Paul Walsh at Hampshire Highways.
Goodman Application
Amport Parish Council has further objected ahead of the Planning Control
Meeting on December 1st.
The Planning appeal at Pyestock has yet to be decided.
Everyone is urged to attend the meeting on the 1st to show support
and send 1 of the postcards available at the STOP website.
Weyhill Play Area
Ian Morrison attended a meeting with Sarah Hammer. A
design company is preparing a quote and plans for the play area. Ian
Morrison will write to the company concerned to chase up the plans as
applications for grants cannot start without it.
Redundant play equipment may be available from the school when the new classroom
is built.

need to be decided at the next meeting.
8 AOB and Correspondence
It was suggested that when tree works occur on the Green or Fen, logs should be
left much bigger, rendering them much more difficult to move and cause damage to
the stream flow.
The older driver scheme was highlighted by Ian Morrison, however most
councillors felt that people would avoid going in case their driving was
criticised and they might be prevented from driving in the future.
The roof at the Bus Shelter outside the Amport Inn is again being damaged by
vegetation. Ian Morrison to write to neighbours
concerned.
The Meeting closed at 8.50 pm.
The date of the next meeting is December 17th at the Hawk Conservancy at 7.45pm
