Four Parishes Arts Society - June 2006

On the second Tuesday in May we enjoyed a lively talk by Sam Whatmore entitled 'Energy in the Woods'. He told us enthusiastically how a contribution towards saving the environment could be made by the use of communal wood burning stoves. He has a farm in Devon where, from a central unit, several homes are supplied with hot water and central heating. Facts and figures were given to support his theories.

He also regaled us with tales of his time establishing a forest in the county and subsequently building holiday homes and creating wild life trails. It was a most interesting and informative evening.

Next month our subject is 'Understanding Renaissance Paintings' with Delia Castelijn at Monxton Village Hall.
