Amport Fete – 4th July 2009 (Independence Day) 1 to 5 p.m.

Amport Fete 2009

It's a big day in the USA, and in Amport.  So much to pack into 4 hours!

Fancy Dress - the afternoon starts with the children's Fancy Dress Parade, with a US theme.
American Vehicles - staying with the theme, several vintage US vehicles will be on display.
Helicopter - they fly above us daily - this is your chance to see one, close up.
Raffle - many amazing prizes, well worth the chance, and if you don't win you have contributed to the Village funds (thank you!).

Assault Course - watch the children letting off steam round a specially constructed circuit.Coconut Shy - all the fun of the fair.

That could make you thirsty ...

Teas - a refreshing cup of tea, and you can treat yourself to a little cake, maybe.

Real ale - for those who prefer something a bit bigger, or a glass of wine perhaps?

Barbecue - excellent sausages and burgers, freshly cooked to order.

Maypole Dancing Display - the children of Amport School will show you how it's done. What could be more traditional than Maypole dancing on the village green?

The chance to bag a bargain or test your skills on the stalls …

Bottle Stall - try your luck. You never know ...

Toys - for your children, your grandchildren, or the young at heart.

Bric a brac - you can find some amazing treasures here.

Books - always room for a few more on your shelf, ... and many, many more!

But Amport fete has some specialities to make it different. Read on …

Made in Amport - this is the only stall in the world that can carry that title. ">  Not just cakes and plants, but produce, jams, pickles, maybe sewing, knitting, woodwork, paintings. The scope is as great and varied as the talent in this village. Check it early for the best finds!

Cornhole Championship - you don't know what that is? Come and find out!

And to round the day off …

Hog Roast and Barn Dance on the Green at 6:30 p.m. with live music from Kingfisher Ceilidh Band  Numbers are limited - tickets costing £12 for adults, £6 for children, are available from Carol Connolly. Book early to avoid disappointment! Tel: 772375

And a final word …
The organisers are eager for donations! If you can spare any Made in Amport items, books, toys, bric a brac, tombola and bottle stall prizes, raffle prizes, or anything that you think will be useful, please call Maggie Jeffery, Tel: 772633, to arrange collection.
