‘Morris: A Life With Bells On’ - Tuesday 24 March 2009 at 7.30 p.m.

‘Morris: a Life with Bells On’ is a heartwarming comedy shot in documentary format that follows the fortunes of one of the leading Morris teams in the country, Milsham Morris, and in particular those of its leader, Derecq Twist.  Morris is a gentle and affectionate look at an aspect of English culture which is, in the finest traditions of this country, unapologetically eccentric, and towards which there exists a huge amount of good will.  The film's events take place in the summer months in and around Dorset, and specifically centre around an idyllic thatched country pub, the Traveller's Staff.  Filmed partly in Poole and Tisbury, Morris boasts a fantastic cast, which includes Derek Jacobi, Harriet Walter, Greg Wise and Aidan McArdle.

 Easy Virtue’  (PG) - Friday 24 April 2009 at 7.30 p.m.

Kristin Scott Thomas and Colin Firth head a great cast in this new version of Noel Coward's play.  John Whittaker (Ben Barnes), a young Englishman, falls madly in love with Larita (Jessica Biel), a sexy and glamorous American racing driver.  They marry impetuously, but when he brings her home to meet his upper crust parents, his mother (Scott Thomas) takes an instant loathing to her daughter-in-law.  Larita realises that she must fight back, and a battle of wits ensues.  In a grand finale, where the secrets of Larita's past are revealed, she finally makes a break for freedom from the suffocating house.

"The champagne wit of Noel Coward's eighty-year-old play still fizzes and sparkles in Stephan Elliott's jaunty adaptation of Easy Virtue. Handsome production values, a class-act cast and nimble direction from Elliott all combine to make the most of the material, transforming it into a surprisingly elegant, entertaining period piece."  Screen International
